Dominic Dougherty, CFP® RICP®

Dominic is the founder and principal advisor of our firm. He grew up in Irving, TX and attended the University of Dallas where he studied politics, history & economics and met his wonderful wife, Laura. Following a graduate degree in Budapest, Hungary, Dominic began his financial services career at TD Ameritrade in 2018 and was promoted to Private Client Services in 2019. Joining an established team at Northwestern Mutual as a planning and investments specialist, he became the office’s Director of Wealth Management in 2022, and in 2023 started his own practice there. After seven years in the industry, Dominic became certain he could best serve his clients through an independent firm, and launched Advising For Life in 2025. He and Laura enjoy raising their two young children surrounded by a fantastic community of family and friends. Some of Dominic's favorite activities outside of financial planning include traveling to new places, playing sports or strategy games, and scheming up overly ambitious ideas to solve problems.
